Top Ten List 2000

Get 'em, boys!
Okay, okay. I've been getting pressure on many fronts to post this list. I should point out that the ordering within each category isn't particularly meaningful. The Category A films are ones I consider masterpieces or near-masterpieces, eminently list-worthy and indicative that it was a pretty strong year for great films. The Category B films are all solid entries, even if falling somewhat short (at least at this point) of the aesthethic qualities necessary for Category A ranking.

As usual, I'd like to add some commentary for each film, even if only a sentence or two. But given my past track record, I think we'd all be surprised if *that* happened...

04. The House of Mirth (Terence Davies, UK/US) (2)
05. The Wind Will Carry Us (Abbas Kiarostami, Iran) (2)
